Nyablon Sik Yuk (Screen Printing Class)

Dont you ever think that art is not only the world within your papers and colors in front of you?. Have you ever thought that you want to incarnate your imagination into something you want to wear everyday?. Sure. Since we are magician, we will fulfill your dream. USER UGM has created an event : Nyablon Sik Yuk (Screen Printing Class) in Gelanggang Universitas Gadjah Mada since morning till evening, Sunday 22nd February 2015. This event was held to accomodate friends who wanted to pour their creativity to a ready wear shirt. Why was it so long? Because it was really fun. To embody your imagination through your clothes is little bit complicated. Still, art needs patience. It is the time how far we could manage our patience. You know, there are so many steps untill our imagination embossed in our daily shirt. 

First, we are preparing our pictures. Never hesitate with our imagination, you know, it can never be wrong. Then, put oil to the papers till it whole transparent.

The Pictures

Next, take the special box and seal it with special ink. Don’t do this step in the light. Psssttt.. here is the secret. The ink is afraid with the light. So, make sure that you are far away from the sun. Try to hide behind the wall. Ups.. then, dry the wet part with hairdryer.

Drying the Ink

Next, put your pictures in the box and put on the sun. Remember, this part is gonna be tricky one. Just put it no more than several seconds. 1-5 seconds is enough. If you are too long putting the material under the sun, it might cause you harder to separate the ink with the picture. 

After lighting process, shot the pictures with water till it only your platform picture left. Then, dry it.

Separation Process

Border your box with selotape. Make sure the picture which gonna move into the shirt is bordered enough. Meanwhile, you ought to put a sheet of board inside your shirt to make screen printing process easier.

Ready? Oke, here we go. Put the picture above your shirt. Keep the position firm enough. take the ink and press once or two times.
